The ways to develop bilateral ties between Iran and Thailand in economic and trade spheres were discussed in the meeting between visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha on Friday in Bangkok.
Different areas of cooperation like tourism, agriculture, energy, petrochemicals, medicine, investment, ports and technology were examined during the meeting.
Chan-o-cha listed a host of areas apt to cooperation and welcomed the measures to expand relations.
Iranian Foreign Minister also underlined the determination of the Islamic Republic of Iran in developing ties with Asian countries like Thailand and prioritized easing of banking facilities and shuttling channels for people and businessmen of the two countries.
The Thai capital city of Bangkok is the 4th destination that Mr. Zarif has visited since Monday as he is on an 11-day tour of 8 countries of Asia and Oceania.
The top Iranian diplomat was invited, earlier in January, to attend the 14th Asia Cooperation Dialogue Ministerial Meeting (ACD MM14) by his Thai counterpart Don Pramudwinai who was paying an official visit to Tehran.
